Celebrate Earth Day!
St. Charles County event planned for Saturday, April 24

St. Charles County, Missouri –This year marks the 40th anniversary of Earth Day. St. Charles County will mark the occasion with a celebration on Saturday, April 24 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at both Recycle Works Central in St. Charles and Recycle Works West in Wentzville.

Residents who stop by during the celebration can pick up a free Missouri native tree and learn more about the county’s recycling programs. Kids are invited to take part in an Earth Day coloring event. The artwork will be displayed at the health department during the month of May. There will also be prizes and other giveaways. In addition, kettle corn and shaved ice will be available for purchase at both Recycle Works locations.

The Earth Day celebration also marks the kickoff for the 2010 Household Hazardous Waste disposal program.
