What Is WIC

Get a Nutrition Lift with WIC

WIC focuses on improving:

  • Nutritional status of women who are:
    • Pregnant
    • Postpartum (have been pregnant within the last 6 months),
      or breastfeeding an infant that is up to one year old
  • Pregnancy outcome
  • Growth and development of infants & children under 5 years of age

The WIC program is funded and administered at the national level by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. At the state level, the program is operated by the Missouri Department of Health, Bureau of Nutrition Services and WIC. The St. Charles County Division of Public Health operates the program at the local level.
