About This Site

Welcome to the St. Charles County Department of Community Health and the Environment website. We have tried to design this site to be useful to three general groups of Internet users.

The General Public

This site contains information describing the Department's programs, locations and hours of operation. The public can access a wide range of services at our facilities ranging from purchasing Missouri birth and death certificates to drop off recycling to adopting a pet. We hope that you will find the service you are looking for on this site. If not, give us feedback!

Students

Our site contains a lot of information on health, environmental, and pet related topics. In addition, we have listed hundreds of links to other worldwide web sites that contain information. There is information to serve the needs of students from the elementary level through students in graduate programs at the college level. There are special "kid" sites in many areas. If you have a need for particular information please let us know. If you have links you want us to consider for addition to this site please let us know.

Professionals

We have designed the site to be used as a tool by health and environmental professionals. There are links to many sites that are excellent for advanced research, for example the Centers for Disease Control, the National Institutes of Health and the PubMed and Grateful Med sites. We hope that having all of these links in one place will be beneficial to professionals searching the internet for information, especially those new to the Internet. These links will also be of value to those conducting research and individuals who desire more technical information on a variety of health and environmental topics. As is the way with the Internet, many of the sites we link to also have extensive lists of links to additional sites.
