FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: February 28, 2008 CONTACT: WIC Relocates to Downtown St. Charles Renovations at health department spark temporary move
St. Charles County, MO - Renovations are underway at the Department of Community Health and Environment building on Boone’s Lick Road. The project is designed to help the department deliver services more efficiently and provide room for future expansion as St. Charles County grows. To accommodate the renovations, the WIC program offices have temporarily relocated to 400 N. 2nd St. in downtown St. Charles. The facility is located just north of the County Courts Administration building, with ample off-street parking for clients. WIC, the Special Supplemental Food Program for Women, Infants, and Children, provides specific nutritious supplemental foods and nutrition education at no cost to pregnant and breastfeeding women, postpartum women, infants, and children up to age five. The department will continue to offer all services as renovations progress. However, citizens are encouraged to visit www.scchealth.org for up-to-the-minute information about changes or temporary relocations. Visitors are also encouraged to look for signs posted around the building that will direct them to the various divisions. Updates on the status of construction will be provided as work progresses.
