Income Guidelines Increase for WIC Services

 

St. Charles County, MO -The St. Charles County Department of Community Health and the Environment has announced that the income guidelines for the WIC Program have increased. WIC, the Special Supplemental Food Program for Women, Infants, and Children, provides specific nutritious supplemental foods and nutrition education at no cost to pregnant and breastfeeding women, postpartum women, infants, and children up to age five.

WIC guidelines count the unborn child as a member of the family when income eligibility is determined. WIC participants are persons who meet the WIC income guidelines shown below and are determined by health professionals to be at nutritional risk.

The WIC program, administrated by the St. Charles County Department of Community Health and the Environment, has sites in O'Fallon, Wentzville, and the city of St. Charles. Pregnant women are counted as two family members. Income guidelines are based on 185% of poverty level.
