Copies of Vital Records Available
Division of Public Health provides copies of birth and death certificates

St. Charles County - Many citizens may not be aware that the St. Charles County Department of Community Health and the Environment is authorized by the State of Missouri to print and sell certified copies of birth and death records. Only family members may be issued birth certificates. Copies of death certificates may be issued to immediate family members or to persons with a valid business interest in the estate. An application must be completed and signed. Photo identification is required. Records can usually be printed while the customer waits. There is a $10 charge for each record issued. Cash, money orders and checks, with proper identification, are accepted.

Certified computer birth certificates can be issued for persons born anywhere in Missouri since 1920. Certified computer death certificates can be issued for deaths occurring in Missouri since 1980. For some purposes, such as genealogy, a certified copy of the original document is needed and can be requested from the Missouri Department of Health in Jefferson City.

Applications are taken for this helpful service Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. except holidays. The St. Charles County Department of Community Health and the Environment is conveniently located at 1650 Boone’s Lick Road, St. Charles, MO 63301. Ample parking is available.
