FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Wednesday, October 6, 2004 October is National Adopt-a-Shelter Dog Month St. Charles County - St. Charles County Department of Community Health and the Environment’s Humane Services Division is celebrating Adopt-a-Shelter-Dog Month and reminds citizens that now is the perfect time to visit the County’s Pet Adoption Center. Friendly, furry dogs and cats of many breeds, sizes and ages are available at the Pet Adoption Center for just $30. While other centers charge adoption fees of $100 or more, the St. Charles County Pet Adoption Center adoption fee is an outstanding value at just $30 and includes a thorough health examination, initial vaccinations, spay or neuter service, temperament education and a microchip for identification purposes. Considering a new pet for the holidays? Mark you calendars now for The St. Charles County Pet Adoption Center’s annual Holiday Adoption Day and 5 th Anniversary party on Saturday, December 18, 2004 from 10am – 5pm. Get a sneak peek at dogs and cats that are waiting to spend the holidays with a new family. Visitors can speak with pet trainers, behavior specialists, tour the facility and even get a photo with Santa! The St. Charles County Pet Adoption Center serves St. Charles County through sheltering and adopting animals, providing owner education, animal control services and investigation of incidents involving animal cruelty and neglect.
