FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: November 3, 2005
Free Pet Adoptions for Seniors St. Charles County -For a limited time, the St. Charles County Pet Adoption Center is offering free pet adoptions to seniors 60 years of age and older when they choose to adopt an animal over the age of 4. This senior adoption program is sponsored by the Purina Pets for People Program. The program helps to reimburse shelters for the cost of spaying or neutering, vaccinations, and additional adoption fees. Nearly 300 shelters are involved in this particular program nationally. Since 1984, the Purina Pets for People Program has provided life-enriching benefits of pet ownership to Americans. Since its inception, the Purina Pets for People Program has donated more than $16 million dollars to participating humane shelters and matched thousands of shelter pets with owners. For those who aren’t eligible for the senior adoption program, friendly, furry dogs and cats of many breeds, sizes and ages are available at the Pet Adoption Center for just $30. While other centers charge adoption fees of $100 or more, the St. Charles County Pet Adoption Center adoption fee is an outstanding value at just $30 and includes a thorough health examination, initial vaccinations, spay or neuter service, temperament education and a microchip for identification purposes. The St. Charles County Pet Adoption Center serves St. Charles County through sheltering and adopting animals, providing pet owner education, animal control services, and investigation of incidents involving animal cruelty and neglect. Visit the Pet Adoption Center at 4850 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, online at www.scchealth.org or call 636-949-PETS (7387) for more information. - ### - [GO BACK] |
