Holiday Recycling Encouraged By County Environmental Services

St. Charles County - During the holidays, the amount of waste going into area landfills increases dramatically. Join the St. Charles County Division of Environmental Services' recycling effort to reduce the amount of waste going to area landfills by recycling holiday paper materials such as wrapping paper (no foils), gift bags, greeting cards, gift boxes and cardboard boxes.

Holiday paper can be recycled along with other year-round paper items including catalogs, magazines, junk mail, home office paper and newspapers. Phone books can also be recycled year-round in a separate container at the Recycling Center. Recycled paper is used for many everyday products and packaging. After you recycle, there is just one very important thing left to do: BUY RECYCLED PRODUCTS!

The St. Charles County Recycling Center is located at 2110 E. Pitman Avenue in Wentzville and is operated by the St. Charles County Department of Community Health and the Environment. For a more detailed overview of the center, a map to the facility and hours of operation, go to www.scchealth.org and click on the Division of Environmental Services. Call 636-949-7415 for more information on recycling in St. Charles County.
