Copies of Vital Records Available
County Division of Public Health Provides Copies of Birth and Death Certificates

St. Charles County - Last year the Missouri Department of Revenue implemented new driver licensing and ID requirements aimed at ensuring the validity of the licenses it issues. To assist residents with these changes, the St. Charles County Department of Community Health and the Environment offers certified copies of birth records for persons born anywhere in Missouri since 1920 for just $15.00 each.

Certified copies of death certificates are also available for $13 each, $10 for each additional copy. Only family members may be issued birth certificates. An application must be completed and signed. Photo identification is required. Records can usually be printed while the customer waits. Cash, money orders and checks, with proper identification, are accepted.

“We want to remind residents of this helpful service and also urge them to come early and get their copies to ensure that they have them by the time they need them,” said Gil Copley, Director of the St. Charles County Department of Community Health and the Environment. “A number of applicants have discovered that the state record of their birth certificate contains errors. These can only be corrected through the state of Missouri. Because of the sudden high demand for certified copies of birth certificates and an increased need for corrections, this process can be lengthy. This may cause a delay in getting the certificate copy which can cause stress and aggravation if a deadline is looming or out of country travel plans are pending. Residents who take advantage of this service early and get their copies ahead of time can save time and avoid frustration," Copley said.

“Small steps like taking a multivitamin everyday can make a big difference,” says Duncan. The NBDPN is working with health care providers around the country to encourage good “preconceptional” health for more than 60 million women in the U.S. who are of childbearing age.

Applications are also available online at www.scchealth.org and can be printed, completed and mailed with the appropriate fee to 1650 Boone’s Lick Road, St. Charles, MO 63301.

Applications are taken Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. except holidays. The St. Charles County Department of Community Health and the Environment is conveniently located at 1650 Boone’s Lick Road, St. Charles, MO 63301.
