Tornado of
November 27,1990
On November 27, 1990, a tornado
struck St. Charles County, MO, this time injuring 25 persons,
damaging 54 homes, businesses and industries. The destructive
force of this tornado totally destroyed a large industry and
overturned a tractor trailer on a parking lot. The powerful
force of this tornado twisted steel I-Beams. Just 45 days
prior to this incident, St. Charles County Emergency Management
had visited the site to train DataPage employees and management
regarding tornado and earthquake take-cover procedures! Proactive
preparedness and exercising saved lives and minimized injuries,
when the building suddenly was struck by a twister! Would
you believe that no one lost their lives? Local schools, nursing
homes, hospitals, daycare centers, shopping centers, businesses,

was not the first, nor the last time, that St. Charles County
has been struck by the powerful winds of a twister or micro-downburst,
during a severe thunderstorm . The City of O'Fallon, MO, has
been the target of at least 3 tornadoes over the last 15 years.

damages caused by Severe Thunderstorms within the County of
St. Charles, MO.
