Outdoor Warning SystemCommunications & Warning Systems

Communications and Public Warning are an essential part of emergency response to a natural or man-made disaster. Properly done, a Public Warning system will provide you with the most time to react as is practical. Communications is necessary to provide a command and control network that will support responders and allow rapid and efficient dissemination of information. Many circuits are used to reduce a single point of vulnerability.

EMD's Communications systems consist of:

  • Amateur Radio
  • Public Safety Radio Networks
  • Private Radio Networks
  • HF Non-Amateur Radio Networks
  • Governmental and Military Affiliate Radio Systems
  • Portable Field Deployed Radio Kits
  • Redundant Public Safety Dispatching Facilities
  • A Memorandum of Understanding with the ECA
  • (Communications system training nets are conducted on Monday evenings)

EMD's Public Warning systems consist of:

  • Outdoor Warning Devices
  • Critical Facility Alert Receivers
  • Cable Emergency Alerting System
  • Emergency Alerting System
  • NOAA Weather Alert Receivers
