COMMISSION ON ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY (CEQ)

The Commission on Environmental Quality is a nine-member board which shall advise the County Executive and County Council on environmental concerns with the goal of conserving the County's natural resources and preventing degradation of the environment. All members of the Commission shall be registered voters and shall be residents of St. Charles County for at least one year prior to their appointment and shall not be employees of any political subdivision within the County.  The County's Director of the Department of Community Development and the County's Director of Community Health and the Environment, or their representatives, shall serve as ex officio members of the Commission.

The CEQ meets at least quarterly for the purpose of advising the St. Charles County Executive and the County Council on issues of environmental quality and the state of the Weldon Spring Project site and surrounding area.  The Commission may meet at any public place within St. Charles County, but shall normally meet at a County-owned facility or a similar public facility available to the Commission without charge.  The Commission shall hold meetings at such times as it deems necessary in order to exercise its powers and duties.
