Announcement

Thank you for visiting our "Ask The Vet" feature. We sincerely appreciate your interest. Unfortunately, we have had to discontinue this feature. This decision was a hard one and was based on an analysis and discussion of questions submitted over the last 12 months. We concluded the following:

  • Nine out of Ten questions were not the type of query we could respond to.
  • There are other wonderful resources available to answer those questions.
What do we mean when we say that nine out of ten questions that are asked can't be responded to? We state in our guidelines that we cannot answer questions about a serious illness or injury and that it may take up to two weeks to respond. Both of these guidelines have been ignored.

Most questions we've received do relate to illness and injury. To answer would not be in the best interests of the sick or injured pet.

Many questions ask for an immediate response, often because it is a weekend or evening and the local veterinarians offices are closed. We cannot provide emergency veterinary service.

We are going to evaluate whether we can redesign and reinstate the "Ask The Vet" service. In the meantime, you can get outstanding information on a variety of pet care and pet health and pet behavior topics from the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and the Humane Society of the United States websites by clicking the links below. Thank you for visiting and we sincerely hope you understand our problem and that you found the many other features of our website helpful. Please visit again!
