COMMUNICABLE DISEASE PREVENTION AND CONTROL

Influenza Report

Influenza (“The Flu”) is a contagious respiratory illness that is spread through everyday interaction. The flu can range from a mild nuisance to a severe, life-threatening situation — with symptoms that range from fever, cough, stuffy nose, and general fatigue to sore throat, headache, and nausea.

The influenza season typically runs from late fall to early spring. To provide more information on the tracking of flu activity this year, the St. Charles County Epidemiologist issues a weekly Influenza Report.
